Project Overview & Our Role

MedNota is a healthcare technology platform created to modernize clinical workflows and medical documentation through structured, reliable systems. The project focused on defining clear task states, intuitive interfaces, and a scalable architecture capable of supporting complex clinical processes. Emphasis was placed on accuracy, performance, and long-term maintainability to ensure the platform could evolve with changing healthcare requirements. By aligning workflow logic with real clinical operations, the system reduces friction, improves clarity, and enables healthcare teams to manage documentation efficiently while maintaining consistency, reliability, and readiness for future expansion across diverse medical use cases and supporting secure collaboration across clinical environments.

We designed and engineered MedNota’s core platform by defining system architecture, structuring clinical workflows, and building a scalable foundation. The work emphasized clarity in task management, extensibility, and performance, ensuring the platform remains adaptable, future-ready, and capable of supporting continuous iteration as clinical and operational needs evolve over time sustainably.

Technology Stack & Architecture

The MedNota platform was built using a modern, scalable technology stack designed for performance, security, and long-term extensibility. React was used for UI engineering, supported by a micro-frontend architecture that enables modular development and independent scaling. The backend was engineered with NestJS, leveraging gRPC for high-performance service communication and a microservices architecture orchestrated through Kubernetes. Apache Kafka powered event-driven workflows, while CQRS patterns ensured clear separation of read and write operations. Camunda handled workflow orchestration, Keycloak managed secure authentication and access control, and SurveyJS enabled dynamic clinical data capture. Apache Superset provided analytics and reporting capabilities, while SendGrid supported reliable system communications.

The solution was delivered as a scalable clinical workflow platform with structured task flows, clean UI engineering, and robust backend architecture. It established a stable, extensible foundation designed to support performance, clarity, and reliability across clinical operations while enabling smooth iteration and long-term platform growth.
